Five Reasons the New York Jets Get Grounded By the Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have yet to win a game this season and have already made a quarterback change.
With the rest of the talented teams in the AFC East it looks as though the Bills are destined to finish last in the East and will be lucky to get a few wins during the 2010 season.
This week the Bills take on the New York Jets and all signs point to another easy victory for an NFL team against the hapless Bills. Not so fast. Before you go running to place a bet on the Jets to stomp the Bills this weekend I would look a little closer, because not only do I think that this game will be close, but I think the Bills win this game.
Here are five reasons the New York Jets will lose this weekend to the Buffalo Bills.
Home Divisional Dogs Are Deadly
1 of 5
BetMania has the Buffalo Bills listed at 5.5 point underdogs at home against the New York Jets. If you don’t want the points BetMania has the Bills at 2-1 underdogs to win the game. There is no deadlier underdog in the NFL than the home divisional dog.
Don’t believe me? In week one the Houston Texans were listed as small underdogs at home against the Colts. They share the same division and the result was an outright win by the home divisional dog. The Seattle Seahawks fit the same category in week one and obliterated the 49ers winning easily as three point home dogs. This was just the start of things. The Redskins won outright as three point home pups to the Cowboys and the Chiefs cashed in as 4.5 point home dogs in division. All of these teams were home divisional dogs and all won on the field.
In week two it was Cincinnati over Baltimore and week three it was the bears over the Packers.
Just because a team is a home divisional dog it doesn’t make them an automatic winner, but it is something to take note of.
Revis Island is closed

Cornerback Darrelle Revis will miss his second consecutive game because of an injured hamstring when, coach Rex Ryan announced Thursday. That highly touted Jets defense is ranked 20th in the NFL in total defense and 27th against the pass.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne torched this unit for over 300 yards and exposed their weaknesses. The Jets are having trouble with safety coverage and leaving wide receivers open off the line playing a soft coverage at first. This is something that the Bills can take advantage of.
The Bills offense proved that they could move the ball on offense against the Patriots so why not the jets?
Fan Frenzy
3 of 5
The Bills are some of the craziest fans in all of football and win or lose they support their team with all of their hearts. The game this Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Ralph Wilson Stadium is sold out and will be televised locally.
This game is close enough to bring in some Jet fans but the Buffalo fan base will severely outnumber the any Jets fans that sneak in. This game will be close down the stretch and the fan support will be a big help to the Bills.
Ryan Fitzpatrick Is the Answer
4 of 5
Until they draft next year the Bills have found their quarterback. Ryan Fitzpatrick came in against the Patriots and did such an outstanding job they cut first day starter, Trent Edwards. Fitzpatrick completed 20 of 28 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
The team supports Fitzpatrick at quarterback and play better when he is at the helm, and that can make all the difference for a football team.
CJ “Thriller” Spiller
5 of 5
CJ Spiller is starting to make some noise in the NFL. He is a special teams star and tore it up against the Patriots. He had a game total of 189 yards with an impressive 37.8 yards per return average. This included a 95-yard kickoff return that kept the Bills in the game against the Patriots. Spiller also recorded four carries for 29 yards and three catches for 10 yards and a touchdown.
Spiller’s role is expanding every week and he is more comfortable with Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback.
This week the Buffalo Bills will pull off the biggest upset of the week when they beat the New York Jets.
