Bill Simmons reports Denver wants Noah+Deng+2 1sts for Melo
"Hearing that Team Melo + Denver stonewalled NJ deal for same reason: both sides waiting for Chicago to suck it up (Deng, Noah, 2 No. 1′s).
"
You know how I stated numerous time that I am not willing to include Joakim Noah in a trade to bring Carmelo Anthony in Chicago? Well, my stance still stands I am still not willing to trade him unless he wants the max deal then I may consider trading him for Carmelo Anthony obvious as long he sign the contract extension.
Anyways, you got to think that you include Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, and two first rounders(I am assuming both the Chicago Bulls own 2011 draft pick and the Charlotte Bobcats draft pick as well.) that is actually too much to ask for. Think about it, you trade two good starters and plus two first round draft picks which you could at least use one of those draft picks to help filled out the roster spots. It may benefit keeping at least one of the draft pick.
Another thing is as I say trading both Joakim Noah and Luol Deng the rebounding is going to come down, sure the Chicago Bulls still have Carlos Boozer who is a great rebounder and Carmelo Anthony is a solid rebounder for a small forward position. But that is it, at the center position going to be weak and I say time after time that there is no guranteed to find a quality center to replace Joakim Noah. There might or most likely no center will sign here to take the MLE the begin with.
As I say before, there are certain players is worth trading Joakim Noah for but Carmelo Anthony isn’t one of them.
Trading both Luol Deng and Joakim Noah plus two first round draft picks is a lot to ask for even though I may reconsider trading the two draft picks. The only consideration I trade Joakim Noah is if he wants the max and maybe if a team convince me getting a good quality center in return then maybe.
I do not think the Chicago Bulls will even consider or be crazy enough to make this kind of trade if the offer is really on the table. You got to think longer term than a short-term, Carmelo Anthony is a great player who is a great scorer and a solid rebounder but that is it I don’t really consider him one of the elite players. The elite players belong to guys like Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and Dwight Howard of course I may forget someone.
I would consider him a top fifteen player but not in a top five, don’t get the wrong idea I do not mind Carmelo Anthony he will help the Chicago Bulls in scoring. Take pressure off both Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer, he also be the other player that can create his own shot off the dribble which help put pressure off Derrick Rose. But that is all what he does and that is part of his game, not a good defender and yes a great scorer as he is hard to find but same with the quality centers like Joakim Noah is hard to find too.
I will swap Taj Gibson instead of Joakim Noah in part of the deal, then I do that deal in a heart beep which will not be too bad. But I am sorry but Joakim Noah/Luol Deng/and two first rounders is alot for someone like Carmelo Anthony who only provides scoring and solid rebounder that is ridiculous from Denver’s part. The Chicago Bulls should not and I do not think they’ll bite on this offer if it is really on the table.
