Boise State Football: Five Reasons To Believe BSU Will Make National Title Game
The Boise State Broncos defeated another nationally ranked opponent in convincing fashion on national television for the second time this season. Despite the massive amounts of penalty yards that the Broncos have amassed, they have still looked impressive in 2010.
They have the unique opportunity of being the first team that isn’t from a power conference to make the National Championship game.
Virginia Tech / Oregon State
1 of 5
Despite the fact that Virginia Tech and Oregon State have each suffered a loss at the hands of the Broncos as well as to another opponent on their schedules, it is right to assume that the Hokies and the Beavers will be competitors in 2010.
Their ability to compete will be one of the main factors as to whether or not the Broncos will have a shot at the National Championship game.
Virginia Tech still has the chance to play well in its conference games and compete for the ACC title game, whereas Oregon State will be able to compete in the Pac-10 and finish its 2010 season strong.
Nevada

Nevada became a member of the Top 25 this week. The Wolf Pack now give the Boise State doubters another reason to follow the Broncos.
The Broncos are the superior team in a conference that does not seem to boast one team to challenge them. That is no longer the case.
The Nevada Wolf Pack host the Broncos in the second-to-last week of WAC conference play.
Assuming that the Broncos and the Wolf Pack remain undefeated until their matchup on November 26, the talk of Boise State as a BCS buster will live on.
Chris Petersen

Although Chris Petersen’s Broncos have received their fair share of penalties this season, they are still coached by one of the best in college football. He has led this team to two BCS victories in the Fiesta Bowl and has an impeccable record as their head coach since joining the Broncos.
His leadership and vision will enable Boise State to keep its eye on the prize and avoid sloppy play as it tries to play its way into the title game.
WAC Schedule
4 of 5
Boise State is the hands-down favorite to win the WAC and rightfully so. Its conference does not match the ability that the Broncos have.
Although there is potential for a conference title matchup in Nevada later this season, the Broncos should have no trouble when they take on their conference foes this season.
Ohio State and Alabama’s Schedules
5 of 5
Much analysis and many experts feel that the Broncos would not be able to make the title game, even if they were undefeated, due to the fact that power conference teams such as Alabama and Ohio State could be undefeated as well.
Alabama has many tough opponents that stand in its way of returning to the National Championship game. This week they welcome the Gators to Tuscaloosa, and that is just the beginning.
The Crimson Tide also still have to play South Carolina and at LSU. Auburn will present the final regular season challenge. It can be assumed that the Tide will also make the SEC title game, further adding to the tough road they have to remain undefeated.
The Ohio State Buckeyes still have to play at Wisconsin and at Iowa, as well as hosting Penn State and Michigan. Those games, along with the rest of the Big Ten schedule, will put pressure on the Buckeyes. They have been known to drop a sloppy conference game, and the tough stretch they have along with the grind of the Big Ten could cost the Buckeyes.
