Top 5 Games To Watch This Weekend

1. No. 12 Miami (FL) (1-0) at No. 2 Ohio State (1-0), 3:30 p.m., ESPN: This is the Hurricanes' toughest game this season and the Buckeyes toughest game until the middle of October.

2. No. 18 Penn State (1-0) at No. 1 Alabama (1-0), 7:00 p.m., ESPN: How much will not having Mark Ingram and Marcel Dareus play into the Crimson Tide’s showdown with a very young Nittany Lions squad, especially freshman QB Rob Bolden.

3. No. 17 Florida State (1-0) at No. 10 Oklahoma (1-0), 3:30 p.m., ABC: Jimbo Fisher’s first big game as FSU's head coach comes in Norman as the Sooners try to improve their performance from last week against Utah State.

4. No. 22 Georgia (1-0) at No. 24 South Carolina (1-0), 12:00 p.m., ESPN2: A very important conference opener for both teams as they both look to grab an early advantage in the SEC East.

5. Michigan (1-0) at Notre Dame (1-0), 3:30 p.m., NBC: The traditional rivals meet in South Bend after convincing wins last week; the Wolverines over UConn and the Irish over rival Purdue.

5 Games Under The Radar This Weekend

1. South Florida (1-0) at No. 8 Florida (1-0), 12:30 p.m., ESPN3.com: The upstart Bulls, led by new coach Skip Holtz, travel to Gainesville, where the Gators hope to find their offense this week.

2. Colorado (1-0) at California (1-0), 3:30 p.m.: Future Pac-10 conference foes meet in Berkeley looking to get out to a positive 2-0 start on the young season.

3. Brigham Young (1-0) at Air Force (1-0), 4:00 p.m., Versus: A big conference opener for both teams as the Cougars try to continue their momentum from the Washington win last weekend.

4. No. 7 Oregon (1-0) at Tennessee (1-0), 7:00 p.m., ESPN2: The Ducks travel east for a tougher opponent in Knoxville for coach Derek Dooley’s first big game in Neyland Stadium

5. No. 25 Stanford (1-0) at UCLA (0-1), 10:30 p.m., ESPN: The Cardinal, led by Andrew Luck, try to get an early jump in conference against a Bruins team stung by last week’s loss to Kansas State.

5 Games To Just Get The Final Score

1. San Jose State (0-1) at No. 11 Wisconsin (1-0), 12:00 p.m., ESPN: The Spartans reward for a 45-point loss to Alabama?  A trip back to the middle of the country to face the Badgers.

2. James Madison (1-0) at No. 13 Virginia Tech (1-0), 1:30 p.m., ESPN3.com: The Dukes get to take the short trip to Blacksburg to a bunch of unhappy Hokies after their loss to Boise State on Monday night.

3. Tennessee Tech (0-1) at No. 4 Texas Christian (1-0), 7:00 p.m.: After losing by 41 to Arkansas, the Golden Eagles get the unenviable task of facing the Horned Frogs in their home opener.

4. Texas Tech (1-0) at New Mexico (0-1), 8:00 p.m.: The Lobos had 72 points dumped on them by Oregon last week. The only question will be whether the Red Raiders will be over or under that mark

5. The Citadel (1-0) at Arizona (1-0), 10:00 p.m.: The FCS Bulldogs travel west to take on the high-powered Wildcat offense led by Nick Foles.

5 Players To Watch This Weekend

1. Terrelle Pryor, Ohio State QB: In his first national TV appearance since last year’s Rose Bowl, Pryor must show how he is ready to lead this Buckeyes team to big things this season.

2. John Brantley, Florida QB: After having a myriad of problems last week in his first start, Brantley needs to produce better numbers against a tougher defense in South Florida

3. Stephen Garcia, South Carolina QB: Garcia is on the cusp of being the QB that Steve Spurrier has wanted. He needs to have a big conference win to be able to take the Gamecocks to the next level.

4. Evan Royster, Penn State RB: The senior needs 42 yard to become the 6th RB in PSU history with 3,000 yards, and he’ll get plenty of opportunities as the focal point of the Nittany Lions offense this week.

5. Demarco Murray, Oklahoma RB: He ran all over Utah State with 35 carries and 208 yards last week. If he’s getting that many carries this week against Florida State, that means things are not going well for the Sooners.

5 Teams That Have To Have A Big Week

1. Kansas (0-1) at home vs. No. 15 Georgia Tech (1-0): The Jayhawks don’t have to win this game but they need to show substantial improvement from last week being held to three points by FCS North Dakota State.

2. Army (1-0) at home vs. Hawaii (0-1): This could be a big week for the Black Knights because a win could lead to a good start to the season and a big step toward becoming bowl eligible.

3. Ohio (1-0) at home vs. Toledo (0-1): The defending MAC champions need a good start to the conference season, especially facing Ohio State and Marshall the next two weeks.

4. Washington State (0-1) at home vs. Montana State (1-0): This is the Cougars' best shot at a win this season because the schedule ramps back up with a road trip to improved SMU next week.

5. Illinois (0-1) at home vs. Southern Illinois (1-0): Ron Zook really needs a couple of wins the next couple of games starting Saturday before starting the Big Ten season hosting Ohio State and visiting Penn State.
