2010 College Football Preseason Rankings: Hokies Start at No. 1 in Power Poll
I've already put together my thoughts on each team in my ACC Team Predictions, at All About Sports. You can also view the same article in slide show format in Bleacher Report ACC Team Predictions. Rather than re-hash the same thoughts, we'll keep the comments to a minimum.
Despite some offseason injuries and personnel losses on defense, I still think the offense can carry them. It almost did last season.
4) Miami Hurricanes 0-0 (0-0)
The Canes can lose 6 games or win 10. Let's split the difference and say this is a pretty good team.
5) North Carolina Tar Heels 0-0 (0-0)
Looks like the NCAA investigation won't really hurt the Heels (yet that we know of). It all depends on QB T.J Yates, because you know about the D.
6) Clemson Tigers 0-0 (0-0)
Can Clemson overcome the departure of C.J. Spiller?
7) Boston College Eagles 0-0 (0-0)
No disrespect to BC, it's just a numbers game that they are 7th to start the season. They will be in the Atlantic Division mix.
8) Wake Forest Demon Deacon 0-0 (0-0)
Jim Grobe has some rebuilding to do, but he's one of the ACC's better coaches.
9) NC State Wolfpack 0-0 (0-0)
Hey, Tom O'Brien. You better win now.
10) Maryland Terrapins 0-0 (0-0)
I wonder how Gary Williams will handle the loss of Greivis Vasquez.
11) Duke Blue Devils 0-0 (0-0)
Get to a bowl, Duke, and David Cutcliffe is ACC Coach of the year. It can happen.
12) Virginia Cavaliers 0-0 (0-0)
Mike London has a big job ahead of him overhauling this program.
