EPL Preview: Blackburn Vs Arsenal: August 28, 2010

Xavier GonzalezAug 27, 2010

Blackburn certainly have had a solid start to the season after beating Everton and being unfortunate not to come away with a win at St Andrewsth—they don’t have too much to complain about as regards overall performance.

There is some concern in the fact that they may have to play without Dunn, Andrews, and Grella who are all doubtful to recover in time for Saturdays match with Arsenal. This will have come as some fairly bad news for Blackburn fans as it was more than likely that they were banking on Dunn’s contribution if they were to have much hope of taking three points away from this fixture.

Arsenal have not exactly been slouches in the past two weeks either sitting 2nd in the league with an impressive goal difference of +6 (they gave Blackpool a trouncing last weekend).

Kosceilny will be ready to play after he missed out on last week’s match due to a suspension. It is fairly possible that he’ll start, although there are a lot of managers who would go with the "if it isn’t broke don’t fix it" philosophy after last week’s performance.

What it’s going to come down to is how Arsenal play, this is their game for the losing; on paper they are a significantly better side than Blackburn, home advantage or not.

Blackburn will probably be playing for a draw here and by no means would that not be a respectable result, three points are nice, but if Allardyce was to answer honestly does anybody think he wouldn’t be very happy with a draw.

You can catch Blackburn vs Arsenal live on Abu Dhabi Sports HD3, Premier League HDTV, Sky Sport HD1 (Italy), Sky Sports HD2 (UK) and in 3D on Sky 3DTV.
