Ranking the helmets of the MWC

Ranking the helmets of the (current) Mountain West Conference.

#9 Colorado State

1 of 9

The helmets themselves are not horrible and they go well with the overall color scheme but they have not a drop of originality.

#8 New Mexico

2 of 9

Again the problem with the Lobo's helmets are that they look like a million other helmets around the country. There is nothing that makes them special or appealing.

#7 San Diego State

3 of 9

The colors just don't work. Aztecs in plain writing against the side of the helmet? Come on they can do better than that.

#6 UNLV

4 of 9

Plain script. Plain Helmet. Where is the creative thinking in the MWC?

#5 Air Force

5 of 9

The Air Force with all their history and respect can't do better than a lightning bolt?

#4 Wyoming

6 of 9

Yes everyone knows that the colors brown and yellow look horrible on a college football uniform but the silhouette of the cowboy on the bronco is awesome. The helmets are not the problem, the uniforms are.

#3 Utah

7 of 9

It's a good looking helmet but it comes off as a bit busy. And that is without mentioning that they seem to have a hundred stickers on the back.

#2 TCU

8 of 9

Purple with the horned frog. Very original. Very clean. Very good.

#1 BYU

Let me preface but saying that I am not a BYU fan in any way, shape or form.I just thought I would make that clear as it seem that too many articles on bleacher report are written by true homers. In fact as a Mormon who lives in Arizona I can say I truly hate almost everything about BYU...except their helmets (and J-dawgs...yes I have friends that go to BYU). They just work...a classic look. Way better than those abominations they had a few years back.
