New AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri is confident that his side are prepared for the rapidly approaching season, which begins on Sunday at the San Siro.

Milan and Juventus played to a scoreless draw this afternoon, with Juventus winning 5-4 on penalties to win the 20th Annual Luigi Berlusconi Trophy.

Milan got strong performances from players not expected to be in the starting 11 for Sunday's clash with Lecce. Sokratis, Bonera, and Odu were all praised by the former Cagliari boss following the match:

"This evening was very hot at the San Siro, but despite this the team played a good game. I have seen players make good plays, especially in the first half when we created several chances. The team has given little to Juventus. We are approaching the start of the league well.

Thiago Silva and Papastathopoulos did well in central defense, but the rest of the defense played well tonight.

Ronaldinho? He is player who has all the physical qualities to do well and this evening gave evidence that he can positively determine our season.

In attack Oduamadi has been busy. It was not easy for him to play his first match at San Siro. I'm happy and satisfied with what he did on the pitch."

Sunday night will start the season, we will host Lecce, in the week we have another game. We will mainly work on getting fit."

Milan will travel to Barcelona in the coming days for their final warm-up, as they prepare to take on FC Barcelona for the Gamper Trophy on Wednesday.

The Serie A campaign begins Sunday with newly promoted side Lecce traveling to the Guiseppe Meazza.
