
Video Highlights of the 10 Best Running Backs in College Football
Seeing is believing, and there’s no better way to judge a running back than by seeing him with your own eyes.
We have a great group of young backs that are really doing some terrific things in the game right now. Let's hope that continues into the 2010 season.
Here for your viewing pleasure are the video highlights of the 10 best running backs in college football.
1. Trent Richardson: Alabama
1 of 10Trent Richardson ran for 751 yards and eight TDs in his first year at Alabama. Expect his workload to increase and his chances to prove his greatness steadily rise.
2. Daniel Thomas: Kansas State
2 of 10Daniel Thomas came to Kansas State as a JUCO transfer last season and shined right from the get go. Thomas will try and win another Big 12 rushing title in his last season as a Wildcat.
3. LaMichael James: Oregon
3 of 10LaMichael James used Legarrette Blount’s suspension as a springboard to stardom. The 5‘9" sophomore rushed for over 1,500 yards in 2009.
4. Dion Lewis: PITT
4 of 10Lewis came out of nowhere as a freshman to rush for nearly 1,800 yards last season. The 5‘8" Lewis is loaded with muscle and has the make up of the true workhorse back that Pitt’s offense needs.
5. Quizz Rodgers: Oregon State
5 of 10Quizz Rodgers may not be the biggest back on the block but he’s probably the toughest. The Maurice Jones-Drew clone has put up consecutive 1,000 yard rushing seasons in his first two years.
6. Mark Ingram: Alabama
6 of 10Mark Ingram may not be the most talented back in college, but he’s probably been the most consistent and productive. Ingram’s 1,658 rushing yards and 20 TDs helped him take home the 2009 Heisman Trophy.
7. Noel Devine: West Virginia
7 of 10Noel Devine has been a highlight reel player since his days as young high schooler. He’s most definitley lived up to the hype. Devine has performed at a level that few Mountaineers have ever reached.
8. Ryan Williams: Virginia Tech
8 of 10Ryan Williams stepped in for the injured Darren Evans and used the opportunity to have a breakout year. Williams rushed for 1,655 yards and 21 TDs for the 10-3 Hokies.
9. Washaun Ealey: Georgia
9 of 10Washaun Ealey wears Knowshon Moreno’s No. 24 jersey for the Georgia Bulldogs and he wears it deservingly. After rushing for over 700 yards as a freshman, Ealey is now ready to ascend to stardom in the SEC.
10. DeMarco Murray: Oklahoma
10 of 10DeMarco Murray had his lowest output of his career as a junior, rushing for only 705 yards. After an injury plagued 2009, expect Murray to bounce back in a big way this season.
