European Transfer Rumors: The Latest on Mario Balotelli, Maicon and More
Club seasons are about to get underway in Europe during the next couple of weeks, and of course that means that the Transfer Window will once again heat up.
With that in mind, here is the latest news on ten players who are being pursued right now in the transfer window.
Balotelli appeared to be a lock for Manchester City until Balotelli made the ridiculous demand of being worth £180000-a-week plus image rights to come to Eastlands.
Of course, there are very few footballers that are worth that money, and to think that a 19-year-old is worth that is ridiculous, even for Manchester City, who of course rejected this offer.
My Verdict: Balotelli will stay with Inter until the winter, when he will leave Italy to go to either Spain or England.
The voices for Maicon to move to Real Madrid continue to get louder and louder, with some recent reports suggesting that the Brazilian is going to Madrid within the next 24 hours.
However, Maicon at the moment is still part of the Nerazzurri as Rafa Benitez refuses to let him go.
My Verdict: Maicon will leave the San Siro for Madrid by the end of the summer.
One of Manchester City's major transfers from the summer of 2009, Emmanuel Adebayor has now stated that he would like to leave Eastlands to play for either AC Milan or Juventus.
Adebayor wants to leave because he knows he will lose playing time this season with Man City, and has stated that a move would be best for everyone.
My Verdict: Adebayor will find himself out of Man City by the end of the season playing for Juventus due to that decrease in playing time.
After playing for Argentina in the World Cup, Javier Mascherano appears that he will be leaving Anfield within the next several days as Liverpool already have stated that they cannot keep him.
Mascherano appears ready to join Inter Milan to rejoin old manager Rafa Benitez at the San Siro.
My Verdict: Mascherano will leave Anfield for Inter Milan in the next couple of days.
Finally, it appears that James Milner is going to leave Aston Villa for Manchester City as it has been widely reported that Milner will come to Eastlands by the end of the week.
Milner wants to make this move, and overall this move would help him be propelled into a better chance of silverware.
My Verdict: Milner will join Manchester City next week as Aston Villa appear to have no chance of keeping him.
The extremely entertaining young German star of the World Cup, Mesut Ozil's front of joining a new club has recently hit a dry spell as it appears more and more likely that Ozil will stay with Werder Breman.
However, Werder have stated that Ozil is not untouchable, and they will send him to another side for the right amount of money.
My Verdict: Mesut Ozil will stay put in Germany this season, but he will go to Manchester United as the replacement for Paul Scholes next season as he is given a year to be around Scholes to help to further improve his craft before Scholes' retirement.
Long rumored to leave Eastlands due to problems with manager Roberto Mancini, Craig Bellamy had a potential loan to Tottenham rejected earlier in the week.
Along with that, Celtic are now getting involved as they appear ready to sign Bellamy within the next several days.
My Verdict: Bellamy will stay in the Premier League and will go to Tottenham, as Harry Redknapp will put out extra money to get Bellamy due to the need for extra players at White Hart Lane with the Champions League this season.
Widely considered to be the next Thierry Henry, Loic Remy is the star in the transfer market right now with many different clubs trying to secure the services of the Frenchman.
Remy had been linked to Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham before the recent shocking news of a potential transfer to Stoke City was reported.
Remy was also one of the players selected by Laurent Blanc to play in France's next friendly on August 11 after the 23 players on France's roster at the World Cup have been suspended for their actions in France's team strike.
My Verdict: Remy will not move during this summer, but he will eventually leave France to play in England. However, I am unsure what club he will join in England once he moves there.
With rumors of Javier Mascherano about to leave Liverpool, rumors are abuzz that Christian Poulsen will leave Juventus to take over Mascherano's spot at Anfield.
Right now, talks continue to go on between Poulsen and Liverpool, with the Dane likely to come in after Mascherano leaves Liverpool in the next couple of days.
My Verdict: Christian Poulsen will be a part of Liverpool next season as he will become another big addition for Roy Hodgson's side this summer.
After a season with VfB Stuttgart, it appears that Alexander Hleb will be moving back to England this summer as he looks to try to fix up his career after a terrible time at Barcelona.
Hleb is being pursued right now by Liverpool and Tottenham, with Tottenham right now being the most likely destination.
My Verdict: Hleb will move to White Hart Lane as Harry Redknapp looks to get as much good talent together as he can to deal with both the Champions League and the Premier League this season.
