Who Can Replace Aston Villa's James Milner As He Heads For City?

Here is my toughts and predictions on who would be in line to join Aston Villa as a Right Midfielder. As James Milner is close to signing a huge deal with Manchester City.

Martin O'Neill has not got a lot of cash to throw around though so he will be looking for an expierenced bargin in this summer transfer market to replace his talented City bound winger.

Here are some realistic replacements.

Shaun Wright-Phillips - I think Shaun will be the obvious replacement as City will probably offer him in the deal which will take Milner to the club.

Shaun Wright-Phillips has International expierence and has played in the Champions League during his stint with Chelsea.

He plays a very similar game to James Milner so do not be suprised to see him as Aston Villas new winger.

Zoltan Gera - Gera has a very impressive season last year with Fulham making 46 appearences and scoring 10 deserving goals.

But as Roy Hodgson has moved on and Fulham only finished mid-table last season with more money and garunteed UEFA Cup football on the line will we see Gera make a move to Villa?

Gera would also be in Villa's price range. About 3 - 8 Million. Thats only as i said my prediction.

Jonas Gutierrez - Jonas could be the ideal man for the job he is a very good utility player who can play anywhere across midfield and right back.

He has played in the La Liga and also the Premier League with Newcastle but with the addition of Dan Gosling to the Newcastle squad will Jonas join Villa?

Last season (in the Championship) he played 41 games and scored 4 good goals he is very defensive as well as attacking.

Jonas Gutierrez has been a fan favourite a St James Park ever since his arrival and would be available for around 5 million.

Lee Chung-Yong - He was an absoloute star during Korea's World Cup.

Last season with Bolton he played 40 games and scored 5 goals along with 8 assists if I was a Villa fan i would hope he would join the side.

With only one year in the PL maybe he is not the most expierenced. But he can whip in a dangerous cross and is very skillful he also has great pace and amazing stamina to back that up.

After his good season last time round and his impressive World Cup Chung-Yong would be available for around 10 Million.

Chris Eagles - The former Manchester United man may not want to stay with Burnley following thier disasterous start to PL life last season

Ranger have confirmed intrest in the English-men and maybe a move to scotland is way more likely than move to Villa Park.

Eagles developed well last year with Burnely but maybe hes just not ready to join a team like Villa in the PL.

Eagles last season made 38 apperances and scored 5 goals. He would also be available for around 4 million.

Park Ji-Sung - Ji Sung is a brilliant all round player and it would not suprise me if he left United for first team football as he is certainlly deserving of it.

United have 4 good winger. Giggs, Nani, Valencia and Gabriel Obertan. Obertan is tipped to be one for the future.

Park would not be very expensive. Probably around 7 Million would tempt Ferguson to sell him.

Park made only 26 apperences last seaon in all competions with United and for a player of his caliber he is probably deserving of many more.

He grabbed four goals last season. He featured mainly in Uniteds Champions League Group Stage, The FA Cup and also the League Cup.

They are the 7 players I am backing to replace the gap which is going to be made y the departure of England International James Milner who is expected to join Manchester City later this week.
