Mr. Unnoticed: Brilliant Bacary Sagna Deserves Captain Role at Arsenal
Each team has one player who consistently, week in week out steps up and performs. Their performances are usually solid and necessary but due to the fashion they go about there work, they constantly go unnoticed.
No one is more deserving of the "Mr Unnoticed" tag in the Arsenal line up then right back Bacary Sagna. The Frenchman arrived at the Gunners from Auxerre in the summer of 2007 and in his début season made the PFA team of the year.
Since his arrival, the 27 year old has been a constant presence at right back, always performing strongly. Not only does the French dynamo always deliver, he is one of the few Arsenal players who rarely suffers from injury.

Sagna is currently approaching his fourth season at Arsenal and with a contract tieing him to Arsenal until 2014--should the defensive gem be given a leadership role?
With current captain Cesc Fabregas still uncertain over his future it seems necessary the captains armband is worn elsewhere. Fabregas is more than likely to remain at Arsenal next season, but it is no secret the Spaniard wishes to depart to Barcelona.
Wenger desires a captain loyal to the Arsenal badge and although Fabregas had been a great performer and presence at the Emirates, another member may need to take the leading role.
Robin van Persie would seem the most likeliest candidate with Thomas Vermaelen and Manuel Almunia also appealing options. But surely brilliant Bacary deserves a shout. Despite not known for his leadership credentials and demanding presence on the field. The French international is one of the more experienced and older members of the Arsenal squad.
Boasting much international experience as well as as averaging 43 games a season for the Gunners. Sagna would be a capable vice captain at least.
Arguably one of the most vital and strongest part of the Arsenal roster it is time for Bacary Sagna to reap some rewards for his outstanding efforts.
