College Football Recruiting: 10 Teams Glad They Lost A Recruiting War
Traditional rivalries stretch beyond the field as two or three programs fight over a prospect while bad mouthing each other and doing everything they can to see the momentum of the battle sway in their direction.
Of course, with every battle, there is a loser.
Sometimes it comes with an early commitment to an in-state favorite or a surprising announcement to head across the country to a long-shot. It can come with a disappointing decommitment or a last second change of heart.
In most cases, losing a recruiting war is a bitter pill to swallow; especially in cases where it means playing against that recruit every year.
But then cases like Da'Rick Rogers come along and you realize, sometimes it's a good thing to get spurned.
Here are 10 schools that in hindsight are glad the cards didn't fall their way recruiting over the last few years.
Alabama Over Losing DT John Brown To Florida

Auburn Over Losing QB Xavier Lee To Florida State
2 of 10
Auburn was extremely high on Lee coming out of high school in 2004 and recruited him as hard as anyone; they were in his final three among USC and FSU.
Lee's time at Florida State was rocky, to say the least. He went 2-4 in six starts during his Seminoles career, beginning the 2008 season as the backup to Drew Weatherford, but came off the bench and engineered a 21-14 victory against Alabama.
Florida Over Losing DB Demar Dorsey To Michigan
3 of 10
Louisville is taking a lot of heat for being the latest school to get involved in this mess and you have to wonder how long it will be until more trouble emerges for Dorsey.
At this point Florida is probably glad he spurned them in the first place. Heck, even Michigan might be glad to be done with him.
FSU Over Losing DT Torrey Davis To Florida

Georgia Over Losing WR Da'Rick Rogers To Tennessee
5 of 10
As it turns out, that might not be the case after Rogers recent run-in with the law. He was one of several Tennessee players involved in a serious bar brawl in Knoxville that left one police office unconscious after several kicks to the head.
The school has taken no official action toward Rogers yet, but the latest police reports indicate that he allegedly assaulted a man during the brawl. This is one case that won't go away for awhile; Georgia must be thrilled they aren't involved.
Notre Dame Over Losing DT Dre Jones To Texas

Ohio State Over Losing OT Seantrel Henderson To Miami
7 of 10
For weeks speculation filled the air about Henderson's future until finally he was released from his letter of intent and soon signed with Miami. Ohio State was long in the mix for his services throughout the recruiting process and many felt they'd be his choice if things soured with USC.
So why exactly are they happy they missed out on the top overall prospect from the 2010 class? Because this young man has all the makings of a diva. Maybe that's unfair, but I'm not the first to say it.
