SEC Media Days 2010: All-SEC Team Is Voted on by Coaches—Who Made It?
Larry Burton (Syndicated Writer) For the seventh straight year the SEC coaches have voted their preseason All-SEC teams. There were little surprises this year, but it was not Alabama leading the way with nine total selections that made the most selected, but Florida with 10.
However, it was Alabama leading the way with six first-team choices to Florida's three.
In all, there were very few first teamers this year that were on last year's list too. In fact, there were just five returning first teamers.
They were center Mike Pouncey (Florida), wide receiver A.J. Green (Georgia), running back Mark Ingram (Alabama), defensive back Mark Barron (Alabama) and punter Drew Butler (Georgia).
It is interesting that of the 26 first-team members, counting special teams members, that only 10 are seniors. That means over half this class is comprised of juniors and sophomores.
Thanks to the SEC Media Office for supplying this chart.
