NBA Rumors: Chris Paul a Boston Celtic?

Tony SantorsaJul 22, 2010

Across the sports world, speculation is that Boston could be a fit for Chris Paul.

Chris Paul has made it clear that he wants to play for a contender, leading many experts asking, "why not Boston?"

Boston already has an up-and-coming point guard, Rajon Rondo, but most would say Chris Paul is an upgrade.

Paul Pierce has came out publicly and stated that he doesn't know why the Celtics' front office hasn't made any major moves; Chris Paul could be that major move for Boston.

But, would it make sense?

If I was Celtics' GM, Danny Ainge, I would definitely ponder this thought. It would be a slight upgrade for the roster, but, more importantly, it might block CP3 from going to New York or another team in the East.

If Ainge were to make a move, it would be an interesting one. I'm sure Ainge is thinking about what kind of potential package he could ship to New Orleans, but I highly doubt it would happen.
