Allen Iverson's Unclear Future Possibly Includes Miami Heat

Lauren ReidJul 20, 2010

Allen Iverson is looking to make a comeback.

The former All-Star, who left the NBA in February, tweeted in early July that he wants to return to the NBA and "help any team that wants him."

Iverson hasn't played a full season since the 2007-08 season, and left the Philadelphia 76ers for personal reasons. Now Iverson says that his family situation is "rock-solid" and he wants to get back to what he is best at.

But where would Iverson fit?

Shockingly, the Miami Heat may want to seriously consider adding Iverson to their star-studded roster. There may just be a place for him among superstars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

His role on the team wouldn't be one of huge importance, but he could definitely benefit the Heat if any of their three superstars have an "off" night. Why not be prepared with a capable backup who is a former MVP?

There is the question of whether the 35-year-old still has enough left in the tank to fulfill his part on any team. The game has taken its toll on his body, and his last season leaves much to be desired from the former "best little guy."

Iverson also needs to make a serious attitude change. He needs to get over his ego and be a role player who supports his team instead of trying to carry it.

While many have written off Iverson, it seems that he truly wants to add his talent to whatever team will take him. It looks as if he has his issues worked out, but that can only be shown if a team takes a chance on him.
