Cesc Fabregas' Response to Barca Shirt Prank: "Everything Can Be Forgiven"

Zaakir HoosenJul 14, 2010

While many Arsenal faithfuls continue to lash out at Barcelona and their central pairing Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique for their "moment of fun," the man himself—Cesc Fabregas—has come out in their defence.

Fabregas' response to the entire "fiasco" was simply: "These are things that happen at special moments, and I don't think it should be gone on about much more because it was just another anecdote of a great night, a great celebration."

Many "die-hard" fans feel that the actions of Pique and Puyol were disrespectful to Arsenal and the Spanish celebration.

Fabregas feels differently: "There are times we do not even know what we do, so everything can be forgiven."

It was a prank, after all—a joke. To many it was more a symbol of Barca's long chase for the Catalan, but Fabregas—unlike many of his fans—understands the "lighter-side."

"At first I thought it was a flag or something, but it's nothing. You had to enjoy it and if it's a way to have fun, it's nothing." Said the Arsenal Captain.

With regards to his future, he made it clear he will not comment:

"I think now the less said about the subject much the better, because these things are worse for everyone when they come to light and people talk more about the matter," he continued.

"Right now we have to be very calm and what will be will be."

Many fans will continue their brutal attack on Barcelona and its players, regardless of what Fabregas has to say.
