NBA Eastern Conference Rankings
The Chicago Perspective has a new writer, and his name is Pat White. No, not the football player on the Miami Dolphins, but he's still pretty good. Check out his first installment by clicking on the link at the end of the preview.
July 8, 2010, a date that will live in infamy. Well, at least infamy for Cleveland Cavaliers fans, for they will forever remember this day as the day that their franchise lost LeBron James to the Miami Heat . With this one single move, the entire Eastern Conference of the NBA has been flipped upside down.
The former best team in the east is now one of the worst, while a team that was the five seed may have just gotten bumped up to the top spot. Below are my rankings and predictions for the NBA Eastern Conference for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.
15. New Jersey Nets (Last Years Record: 12-70, 15th in the East)
While they will be better than their horrible record of last year, don’t expect New Jersey to make the playoffs this year. I really like Devin Harris , and I would go as far to say that he is in my top five favorite point guards to watch. I have been watching him since he was at Wisconsin, and he can play.
I also really like Lopez, and I think he has developed into a nice player. However, New Jersey lost free agency, failing to sign one big name player. Of course, with the third pick in the draft they were able to draft the Georgia Tech forward Derrick Favors. But I don’t think that a big super athletic kid helps them immediately.
New Jersey remains in last place in the East, but look for them to win about 25 games this upcoming year.
