Trojan Faithful: More Unified Than Ever

David PachecoJul 10, 2010

The University of Southern California Trojans.  Love them or hate them, they are not going anywhere anytime soon.  While most writers have chosen to predict the end of the Trojans, the end of the football program, and most people wishing the end of the University altogether.  It's not going to happen.

Lets be honest here, USC has taken on more negative pressure and negative spotlight than most schools could handle in a decade, whatever conference your allegiance lies with.  While we have all seen and definitely read more than enough articles on what has transpired over the last several months, the speculations, predictions,  and flat out wishing for our demise...has begun.

Trojan fans realize that being hated on comes with the territory, we expect haters, which there is no shortage of, to pile it on.

What an opportunity.

Sure the Trojans are in a bad spot, loss of big time games, scholarships, no bowls games, as a Trojan fan all I can do is shake my head, and say to myself, this sucks.

The NCAA definitely laid it down on us, excessive, but, what are you going to do?

Nothing, deal with it and move on.

This apparently is happening at Trojan camp, moving on.

So for all you that believe that the Trojans should not even suit up this year, to bad, cuz here we come with a chip on our shoulder.  Really, what are we going to do?  Give up and lay down?

I don't think so.

This team, has more to prove this year than any year the Trojans have played in sometime.  Last year was a tough year, some really bad loses, some tough wins, going 7-4 is not considered to be an acceptable year.

This team will not accept another 7-4 season.  Guaranteed.

That's a bold statement I know, and I expect to draw fire for it, but think about it.

Last year's team, while I hate to say it, should not have been ranked so high in the beginning.  Loss of Mr. Sanchez, and basically the entire starting defense, obviously left some gaping holes in the team.

This year, this team, knows exactly where they stand.  We are still one of the most talented teams in the country, have a year under our belt, and some added "pressure" with Kiffin at the helm.

I was ecstatic with every other USC honk out there when Lane came down from Rocky Top, back to the palm tress of sunny southern cal.

While I have read numerous hater articles on Lane, I am astonished how the writers are not talking about his history with SC, what he has done for the program, and numerous NFL players?!?!

Players are going to come and go, signs letters of intent and bail, transfer, it happens every year to every major program.

Lets make one thing clear, no one player is bigger than this program, not Reggie Bush, not Seantrel Henderson, not Dillon Baxter, not Matt Barkley, say what you want, but it's still USC football.

This program is far from done, we will continue to grab recruits, continue to win games, continue to compete and continue to make the college football world realize when they are playing the Trojans, they better be ready.

The Trojan faithful are more united than ever, just take a look at the comment boards, and you will see,  we are here to stay, and ready to play!

FIGHT ON!
