Updated: Potential Line Up Possibilities For Kadri

Ray H.Jul 9, 2010

“It’s pretty much an everyday thing,” Kadri said when asked about how badly he wants to be in Blue and White this fall. “I’ve been working on this dream since I was a little kid, so how can you not think about it?

It’s something I really want.”

Coach Ron Wilson will make the decisions on how he expects and wants his lines to be, but at the moment I'll mix and match some possibilities for Kadri. LW-C-RW.

Option 1

Kulemin-Kadri-Kessel

I call it the triple K combo. Kessel is a shooter and given the opportunity he might score you some big goals when it really counts. Kadri is not a passer and he is known to be a puck hog but this attitude is slowly changing. We have seen it in the World Junior games as well as in the playoffs with the London Knights. As a passer Kadri has the skill and ability to make great plays. Kulemin is not a sniper but he is a hard hitter and can get around through the neutral zone without a problem and even crash the net.  This deadly combo when playing together can create a dazzling line.

Option 2

Kadri-Bozak-Kessel

The line combination of Bozak and Kessel already has some chemistry. Mix this in with Kadri's playing making and scoring ability, you have a line that can't be tamed. Bozak's great passing ability will pave the way for Kadri and Kessel to move into the opposing team’s zone and use their skills to out maneuver opposing players and their goalie.

Option 3

Armstrong-Kadri-Versteeg

Versteeg is a very versatile player, he's got a good attitude, he works hard. He's basiaclly the exact opposite kind of player as Stalberg. A highly skilled winger who fills a huge hole on the second line. Versteeg has had two consecutive 20 goal campaigns for Chicago, and should break the 25 goal more with increased ice time and power play time in Toronto.  Versteeg injects skill into a lineup that needs it in a bad way, and with Kadri this skill will only flourish. This deadly duo can make circles around some opposing team lines. With Armstrong, a gritty player, this line up will become even deadlier. Armstrong can play both RW and LW. He can clear the path for these guys to get through the neutral zone without having to able to fight off players. This line would be deadly in the PPs.

These are meant to be options for Lines 1 and 2. Kadri will not play a bottom six forward. Ron Wilson said that he wouldn't allow Kadri to be a bottom six forward. If he doesn't make top six then he will probably be sent down to the Marlies.
