LeBron James in Miami Means No Title For Miami Heat Next Season

Bryan HudsonJul 8, 2010

As LeBron continues to play up himself, the front runner for him seems to be Miami as late sources say. If he does go there though, is it actually reasonable to say that Miami can win it all next year?

Besides this potential big three, what do the Heat have? Who is the point guard dishing the ball out to all three of these guys? Who is going to come off of the bench and give them a spark when they need it?

Michael Beasley is one of only two other people on the Miami roster, so as of right now, they do not even have a starting lineup.

We saw this year that a "Big Three" needs more then just three. Without Rondo the Celtics would not have won the Cleveland series this year. Without a bench they would not have won the Orlando series. We saw that without a solid center (Perkins) the Celtics had no chance in games six or seven.

Now I know Wade, Bosh and James are younger, but the point still remains. How will Miami shape the rest of the lineup with such little money?

Personally I think that by signing James the Heat don't have a legitimate chance of winning a title this year, or even possibly next season as well. If they do not sign him they can go out and get some awesome complimentary players at the point guard and bench positions, thus making Miami a more complete team.

I am not sitting here saying that LeBron is not a good player. He is a very good player, but with the amount of money he should get, it leaves nothing to build the team with.

Miami is going to have a tough time beating teams like Orlando, Boston and LA if they have no bench, point guard or decent center.

I think James' best options are to go to either Cleveland or Chicago. They both have money to get players around him, and in the case of Chicago they already have players there. I think LeBron not going to Miami is better for him, and the Heat.

Side note:

If LeBron does go to Miami, I think the chances of him getting another lowers drastically. His numbers would be down, and players like Durant and Anthony would make more of a case for themselves. Just another reason James would not want to go to Miami.
