Bob EvansJul 6, 2010

LeBron James is going to New York.

No wait, he's staying in Cleveland.

Never mind, he will be a Chicago Bull for the next five years.

These are the guessing games and rumors that have plagued media headlines for the past few months.

Well people, the guessing and wait is over.

Well, almost.

ESPN has just reported that LeBron James will make his official announcement at 9 p.m. Thursday night on live television.

James' contingent of people decided that it would be a good way to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of America by selling advertising space during the special.

But let's be serious, this is the moment LeBron has been missing in his life.

As the top player in the nation his senior year of high school, he never got the big recruitment moment.

He didn't experience the wining and dining at the colleges and universities, the visiting of campuses, and the college coaches telling him what they will do to build the program around him.

He didn't get the chance to sit down with all of the camera crews with a pile of potential hats in front of him, and then get to make his decision with his family and friends around him.

Well Thursday night will be LeBron's chance.

Not only will LeBron have six organizations patiently waiting his decision, he will have millions of people worldwide tuning in to see where he will go next.

Will he break the hearts of the city he claims to love and leave Cleveland?

Will he take on the challenge of being the heir to Michael Jordan's throne in Chicago?

Will he attempt to bring the New York Knicks back to basketball relevance in the basketball mecca known as Madison Square Garden?

Or will he head off to Miami, L.A., or New Jersey to join up with his buddy Jay-Z?

These are the questions to which we have all been dying to know the answer.

And Thursday night at 9 p.m. live on ESPN, we will all finally know the answer!
