BIG TEN FOOTBALL: Purdue Boilermakers 2008 Season Predictions

Kristofer GreenJul 27, 2008

Joe Tiller comes into his last season in West Lafayette with seniors Curtis Painter (QB), Kory Sheets and Jaycen Taylor (RB), and Greg Orton (WR) on offense and Anthony Heygood (LB) and Ryan Baker (DT) on defense.  But a tough schedule keeps the Boilermakers from competing for the Big 10 Championship.

Here are my predictions for the 2008 Purdue Boilermakers.

9/06    NORTHERN COLORADO

TOP NEWS

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: JAN 24 Indiana CFP National Championship Victory Celebration
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: DEC 26 GameAbove Sports Bowl Central Michigan vs Northwestern
Northwestern v Penn State

A scrimmage before the Ducks roll into town.

Prediction:  Win (44-10)

9/13    OREGON

Inexperience at quarterback and receiver hurt the Ducks.

Prediction:  Win (31-24)

9/20    CENTRAL MICHIGAN

The last time these two teams met in last season Motor City Bowl it was a shoot out.  Don't expect such a high-scoring affair this time around.

Prediction:  Win (34-21)

9/27    at NOTRE DAME

John Tenuta's defensive game-plan will give Curtis Painter fits.

Prediction:  Loss (28-20)

10/04  PENN STATE

A battle between two retiring Joes?

Prediction:  Loss (28-20)

10/11  at OHIO STATE

Joe Tiller can't pull out a victory in his final game against the Scarlet and Gray.

Prediction:  Loss (31-10)

10/18  at NORTHWESTERN

C.J. Bacher outplays Curtis Painter in this thriller in Evanston.

Prediction:  Loss (31-28)

10/25  MINNESOTA

Curtis Painter carves up the Gopher defense.

Prediction:  Win (31-20)

11/01  MICHIGAN

Joe Tiller will pull out all the stops in his final game against the Big Blue.

Prediction:  Win (28-27)

11/08  at MICHIGAN STATE

Brian Hoyer has a great game, as the Spartans continue to roll.

Prediction:  Loss (34-28)

11/15  at IOWA

The Hawkeyes give the Boilermakers their best shot.

Prediction:  Win (31-28)

11/22  INDIANA

The Boilermakers will be seeking revenge for last year.  They will send Joe Tiller out with a bang.

Prediction:  Win (34-28)

Final Record: 7-5.  Joe Tiller goes bowling in his final season at the head of the train.  Next season will be much more difficult for the Boilermakers.
