Arsenal Prepares for Major Changes

The Arsenal football club could be bracing itself for a host of changes at the club. The club is very much active in the transfer market and has already brought in one striker.

Now attention turns to the defensive side as Sol Campbell, William Gallas, and Mikael Silvestre are all out of contract this summer.

Gallas looks certain to leave the Emirates, and the boss intends to replace him with FC Lorient defender Laurent Koscielny.

There have been reports that Per Mertesacker is a £10 million transfer target. The German giant would be a welcoming addition to the Arsenal defence.

Next season's central defenders could well look like this: Mertesacker, Koscielny, Djourou, and Vermaelen. Hopefully, Sol Campbell will stay on to provide cover.

However, this position is not the only one that could change for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger has hinted that he is interested in signing Joe Cole, who has held talks with Harry Redknapp for a move to Spurs.

The Gunners manager was highly praiseful of Japanese playmaker Honda. He could become a surprise addition to the Arsenal team.

All these players could overload Arsenal, but according to widespread reports, Arsenal could sell Tomas Rosicky and Eduardo. Neither player have managed to impress this season.

Eduardo has not been the same after his horrific injury, and the arrival of Maruoane Chamakh could limit his first-team chances.

Wenger has also been impressed by Germany in this World Cup. Wenger picked out Ozil as a major influential player. Very interesting, indeed!

This could be a defining summer of transfers for Arsenal FC.
