Ohio State Recruiting: Tanner Makes No. 17

Today the Buckeyes capped off a great week in recruiting, as Ron Tanner committed .
Tanner (6'1" 190) is being tabbed as a safety and joins Jeremy Cash as the second recruit at the position in this class, and the team's 17th overall. He had a solid list of offers, including Michigan State, Michigan, Northwestern, Boston College, Purdue, Stanford, and more.
Maybe the most impressive thing about him is his GPA (3.75), making him a perfect Tressel recruit.

Like Nick Vannett earlier this week, this commitment comes as no surprise, but still is an important one as the Buckeyes put together a great defensive back class. For a few years the staff struggled recruiting star safeties, which has been no problem in 2011.

Now if they can get Doran Grant to jump on board, this would be one of the best defensive back classes in recent memory.
