Sir Alex Ferguson: A Passing Thought, a Compliment and a Plea

Shivam SharmaJul 1, 2010

THE PASSING THOUGHT

After Cristiano and Tevez headed to the exit doors of Old Trafford, The "Fab Four - Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez and Berba-King," became the "Dynamic Duo - Wayne Rooney & Dimitar Berba-Flop," which eventually became "The one and lonely - Wayne Rooney" as Berba-Flop did what he does best -- be a Flop.

I shook my head in despair. The United which had the strongest and most balanced squad in the Premier League with players like Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov, Macheda, Welback, Scholes, Giggs, Hargreaves, Gibson, Park, Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Tosic, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Neville, Rafael, Fabio, VanDerSar, Foster and more, United became an average squad with the departure of Ronaldo and Tevez, the Flopping Berba, the CL 2009 final casualty Carrick and long term injury of a beastly Hargreaves.

It was like a void, a big hole in the squad. I was scared, everyone was. I thought to myself, "Will United ever be as strong as they were?" Winning three BPL (formerly known as EPL) and making two consecutive champions league finals, is not a joke. A team needs a strong squad with at least 4-5 big players. United had that, but not anymore.

But, we trust you Sir Alex. After all, you are the World's Most Successful Manager, ever.

THE COMPLIMENT

People always doubt you when United are in a deep hole. Be it the time when Beckham departed or the time when Van Nistelrooy followed Beckham to Real Madrid, but you always came out on top. You gave the World, a fantastic and a truly inspirational player in Cristiano Ronaldo.

After you signed two new players this season, I was disappointed. Two players who had a lot to prove and I just wondered "Why wouldn't he sign big names?!"

But now that I have had the time to absorb the signings and truly understand the motive, I have a feeling that you have done it again - The Master Stroke.

The name is Javier Hernandez. I know it’s too early to call, but the kid is fantastic! Strong in the air, not afraid to take on defenders, tremendous ability and had a great World Cup. He's like a young(er) Fernando Torres.

I would give the boy two years to be one of the best strikers in the World and it will only get better. Thank you for the great signing.

THE PLEA

Coming back to my scary thought "Will United ever be as strong as they were," I see the answer. Everyone who watched the World Cup saw the answer. I am sure the England squad would tell you the same.

The answer to the United Midfield problems and creativity problems - the extremely talented and promising 21 year old, Mesut Ozil. We should pay his current club, Werder Bremen, whatever they want! Ozil is priceless!

The 21 year old, currently with the German National team in South Africa, is definitely the player of the tournament so far.

United is a big club, exactly what Ozil is looking for. He would love to call Old Trafford his home ground. United is the ideal place, for players like Hernandez and Ozil, to build their talents and become one of the World's Best Players.

In simple words, Please Sign Ozil.

Until Next Time
