The Big 12 (10?) Is Texas' B*tch: Conference Realignment Update.
Here is the real truth on why Texas supposedly "turned down" the Pac 10.
Texas wanted their own network separate from the Pac 10 and more money than the rest of the schools.
The Pac 10 basically told Texas to get out of town before sundown, because they don't need them that bad. The Pac 10 is already the conference of champions, and owns more national titles in all sports combined. By a wide margin. In fact, the top 3 schools for national titles all reside in the Pac 10; UCLA,Stanford, and USC.
The Pac 10 will be just fine without Texas, and just add Utah (another good all around sports school-in fitting with Pac 10 style) and reach the 12 teams required to have a conference title game.
The Big 12 on the other hand has nothing without the Texas schools and Oklahoma (now that Nebraska and Colorado left) except Kansas Basketball. So they that said "how high?" when Texas said " Jump". and Now Texas (the Pimp) has it's own b*tch in the Big 12. Oklahoma is kind of like an assistant pimp or vice president. Texas A&M is just another b*tch along for the ride.
Get this the 9 million each that Nebraska and Colorado each have to pay in penalties for leaving the Big 12, will be split up only among Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, and the lest of the league agreed to that garbage because well..... They are Iowa State, Missouri, Kansas State, Baylor, and Texas Tech, a bunch of should be non-bcs teams.
The truth is the Pac 10 (nor the SEC,for that matter) would bend over for Texas. The Big 12 would. End of story.
I wonder what happens to that league when Texas and Oklahoma go through another down period, like they did in the late 80's and 90's?
Probably the opposite of what will happen to the Pac 12 when former Football Powerhouses Washington, Colorado, UCLA and Stanford rise again and Join USC,Oregon, Oregon State, and Utah at the big boy table.
