Conference Realignment: Big 12 Attempts To Save Itself By Keeping Ten Teams
The college football world continues to go upside down. Both Nebraska and Colorado have departed the once top Big 12 to bigger and better things.
Reports indicate that the Big 12 will indeed fall, with teams destined to move to the Pac-10 or the SEC.
However, there is still hope from some of the universities that the conference is saved, which has prompted a new plan for the conference.
According to Chip Brown of orangebloods.com (same guy who first reported the finalization of Nebraska's move), a proposal is being made to the entire conference, which interests Texas.
Via Chip's Twitter account: "A proposal by Dan Beebe to hold the Big 12 together with 10 teams is in play and being considered by Texas, sources say."
Brown also said from Twitter today that " Beebe is promising the remaining teams that they can earn $17 million dollars, and have their individual networks."
Right now, we don't know what teams will consider this. Kansas, Missouri, Kansas St, and Baylor will have interest, as they weren't invited to the Pac-10 conference.
For all the other teams, it is still up in the air.
