World Cup 2010 Group C: England Will Beat the USA
"Come on England, we need to sort it out. Put the champs down, pull your finger out. Leave the wags alone, set aside your ego, we’re tired of bragging about 40 odd years ago. We need a victory, quick, fast.
"Don’t wanna see ya slip past. Think about the future, surely it’s the right time, I wanna see you win it in my lifetime. 1966 Bobby Moore and that Geoff Hurst put it to the turf—we applauded that, there was no ignoring that, nobody could stop him...
"Pull your socks up let’s get physical. We need teamwork—we don’t need a miracle. We need Rooney in tip top condition, Aaron Lennon down the wing like he’s on a mission. It ain’t no superstition, its not a luck thing. Rio Ferdinand nobody can f*ck with him! Hope we get stuck in, won’t get caught out, and stop trying to hog the ball, knock the ball about."

...if you're American, you probably won't want to read on...
England are are fourth favourites this year and are expected to reach the semifinals by most football pundits, whereas the USA are expected to follow up behind England and finish second in the group.
That's right...second.
It is well known on this side of the Atlantic that Americans think they are the best, the top dog, the boss. The USA might be ahead of England when it comes to politics, music, films, obesity and stupidity, but when it comes to sport, and especially football (don't ever call it soccer!), we come out on top.
When typing in "England beat USA" into that fantastic American Site Searcher, it obviously shows 2 million links to why people believe the US will beat England before the right links pop up.
I genuinely can't see how the US fans think they will beat England. I know they are being patriotic, but they are also making themselves look stupid. Bill Clinton, of all people, is the most realistic, saying, "We could have done with a different draw."
England have top class players like Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Cole, Terry...sorry I'm naming the whole team (except Heskey).
America have players like...Dempsey, Howard, Donovan...ummm...they're good.
England's World Cup record is hugely better than the Americans'.
England were champions in 1966, who can forget that? Since then there has been a bit of disappointment as our best since was finishing fourth in 1990.
The USA's best finish was third place in 1930. They then didn't qualify from 1954 to 1986. Since then their best has been the quaterfinals in 2002.
Both teams have recently played Mexico. USA beat them 2-0 at home and lost 2-1 away. England only played them once and beat the at Wembley 3-1.
My Prediction: 2-0
This is not meant to be an unbiased article. This is just so I can get stuff off my chest before we beat the USA, so I don't have to do it after the game.
