Uruguay vs France Live : World Cup 2010, Group A

Xavier GonzalezJun 11, 2010

You can watch Uruguay vs France live on many tv stations: TF 1 HD (France), BBC HD (UK), C+ Liga HD, Nederland 1 HD, ORF 1 HD, RTL Germany HD, Sky Mondiale HD1, Sky Sport HD (in Germany), Al Jazeera Sport HD and 3D, and of course many others.

Short Preview

France, by all rights, should not be in the competition. They only just about managed to scrape through and this is only thanks to a hand ball from Henry. The other interesting point of view is the fact that last time France entered a major competition without the leadership of Zidane they crashed out of the group stages in a rather embarrassing manner.

The French side are not likely to set this match alight and it wouldn’t be the smart bet that it would’ve been four years ago for them to trounce Uruguay. Henry isn’t what he used to be and there aren’t really any other options for the French, at least in the form of a proper hitman who can put away chances in a world-class manner.

Uruguay is a bit of a dark horse, it is pretty hard to predict exactly how well they are going to do in the World Cup. They are, by all rights, a strong side and have every chance of going through. They could quite possibly be the first team to highlight all the flaws with the flailing French side, which miraculously made it into the Cup at the expense of the Republic of Ireland. In many respects, Uruguay could be the safe bet for this match.

Group A could be very intriguing for both these sides, and of the two, Uruguay certainly have the side which could most credibly progress to the next stage of the competition.

France will be very lucky if they can scrape their way through the group stages, and if they do it will be very unjust as it could be at the expense of a team which actually deserves to get through. It doesn’t look like they’ll be creating any interesting matches unless it’s through further controversies.
