Argentina – The last time the Argentines won the World Cup, Diego Maradona was scoring arguably the most famous goal in the history of the sport: the “Hand of God.” Now, Maradona is managing the team for the country that he helped build.

However, the first son of Argentine soccer has come under a ton of criticism for the way that he has handled his side in preparation for this World Cup. Argentina just barely qualified for the tournament and needed a win against Uruguay on the final day of qualification to get here.

M Lionel Messi was the top goal scorer in the Spanish Primera this year with 34 goals, and he is going to be a candidate for the Golden Boot award should Argentina advance far in this tournament.

Nigeria – African nations haven’t had any sort of success in the World Cup, but this year, that could all change. The Nigerians are going to have a huge home field edge playing as close to their own backyard as they have ever played in this tournament.

The Super Eagles didn’t qualify for the World Cup in Germany. They have made it through to the second round twice in this tournament and have shown that they have the ability to knock off some of the biggest squads in the world. In 1998, Spain fell in the first round, while Bulgaria was the side that was upset by the African squad in 1994 in the United States.

Greece – After Greece won Euro 2004, the world turned its head and thought that Greek soccer was really headed to the next level. However, they failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup and only just barely made the cut for this edition of the biggest stage in soccer.

In fact, Greece has never scored a goal in World Cup action in spite of the fact that it reached the ‘94 Cup. The Greeks have been outscored 10-0 in their history at this level. F Theofanis Gekas led all of Europe in scoring in qualifying with ten goals.

South Korea – The Koreans really didn’t have much to cheer about in terms of soccer success until the 2002 tournament on their home soil. However, springing upset after upset and making it to the semifinals and losing there and in the third place game still did wonders for one of the most decorated Asian nations in the world.

Watch out of M Park Ji-Sung, as he is carrying the experience that he has acquired from playing for five years with English giant Manchester United into this tournament.

Simply put, Argentina is head and shoulders above everyone else in this group. It’s hard to see which team is going to hold this team without getting three points. Expect a clean sweep in Group B for Argentina in World Cup betting action.
