Cesc Fabregas: Barcelona Up to Their Usual Dirty Tricks.
Where do we go from here and exactly what can we expect Barcelona to do next in their evil plot to capture our captain and star player?
We had to listen to their ridiculous statement yesterday that they will respect Arsenal's wishes as regards Cesc and any potential move to them. When they heard the supposed statement from Cesc that he would love to join Barcelona, they said that they would have to see if they needed him and possibly act on that.
Do they think we are stupid? Not only have they decided to take Cesc's words out of context, but they then try to make it sound like they have never even considered if Cesc would be a suitable player for them.
I keep hearing that Cesc wouldn't get his game at Barcelona as he would be behind Xavi and Iniesta in the pecking order, but the stats don't back that up as Cesc creates a scoring chance for every 29 minutes he is on the pitch, which is better than any player in any major league in Europe.

Tell me that Barcelona don't want him in their team and I will think that you also believe that Barcelona weren't behind the stories that Cesc had asked for a move. With the boss on holiday, I would like to know where and when the emotional meeting between him and Cesc took place as it obviously couldn't have been in London, as was reported.
When you think about it, the only time the boss could take a holiday is at the moment as I'm sure he will be working with French TV at the World Cup and preseason training will start directly after that for at least some of the squad.
As LadyArse said last night, the only thing Cesc said that was any way worrying was that he wanted his future sorted out before the World Cup but besides that it was the usual "I would love to play for Barcelona one day but I'm an Arsenal player and happy to be at Arsenal."
I choose to believe that he will stay at Arsenal and we have received no offers for him whatsoever. Barcelona did sign David Villa yesterday for €40 million, and at his age they will have no resale value on him when his contract expires.
I have read varying reports of the amount of money Arsenal will want for Cesc if he is to be sold to Barcelona, with £40 million being the lowest and £80 million being the highest. In my opinion, £80 million isn't even enough for a player of his ability at 23 years of age with his best footballing years still ahead of him.
The latest ridiculous names to be mentioned as part exchange for Cesc are Dmytro Chyhrynskyi and Rafa Marquez, but like Bojan Krkic and Yaya Toure before them, Barcelona can keep them and we'll keep Cesc to make everybody happy.
The only other piece of news I could find today was that Van der Vaart says that RVP has told him he should join Arsenal. I know it's not quite the same as Spain's Barcelona contingent telling Cesc to join them, but he is still under contract at Real Madrid. He is a very good player and he has been linked to us in the past I'm sure. I wouldn't mind him joining us at all especially if he brings his wife to all the home games. That's it for today.
Here's part four of all of Henry's goals for Arsenal.
See you tomorrow.
