Huskies-Pirates: UConn Pushes Past Seton Hall
The UConn Huskies looked good in certain parts of last night's game in a 71-63 victory over Seton Hall.
There were other parts of the game where UConn looked bad on both ends of the floor. For whatever reason, UConn struggled after jumping out to a 21-12 advantage.
The Seton Hall Pirates never backed down though. After taking the lead late in the second half, UConn needed to respond, and it did, ending the game on a 17-6 run.

This run was led in large part by Senior Jerome Dyson. His up and under layup, followed by a fadeaway three, and then an alley-oop to Stanley Robinson sealed the deal as the Huskies won their second conference game of the season.
Dyson struggled in the first half shooting 0-for-4, and only two points. That all changed in the second half as Dyson found his way and fell a rebound shy of a triple-double.
He ended the game scoring 16 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. Dyson has been able to do it all from a team aspect this season.
Prior to yesterday's game, Dyson was the only player in the country averaging at least 20 points, five assists, and five rebounds.
"He just put on, I thought, one of the better performances to make a team win," UConn coach Jim Calhoun said. "He made us win offensively."
What made yesterday's victory rewarding was the balance UConn got from different players on the team.
Gavin Edwards scored 15 points on seven-of-nine shooting off the bench. Although Edwards comes off the bench, he sees significant action logging 35 minutes last night.
Stanley Robinson had a quiet game but still managed to score 10 points and throw down a couple big dunks that got the crowd going.
Kemba Walker was eight-of-nine from the line, and he scored 15 points.
Alex Oriahki had a strong game down low, scoring a career high 12 points and nine rebounds.
UConn did play well, but the lapses it had at different times in this game can't continue to happen against the beasts of the Big East.
The next two games will be crucial as to where the Huskies position themselves in conference play.
The Huskies travel to Washington D.C. on Saturday to take on Georgetown, a team the Huskies have lost three straight to.
Then UConn comes home to take on Pittsburgh Wednesday night. The Panthers already have impressive road wins over Syracuse and Cincinnati.
It's doesn't get easier from there, as Texas comes to Gampel Pavilion on Jan. 23.
This UConn team has some big basketball battles awaiting them.
