Watch BYU's Robert Wright III Score 101 Points in Powder League Pro-Am Game Highlights

Robert Wright III is preparing for his junior season at BYU by making Powder League history.

Wright scored 101 points in a Powder League Pro-Am game on Friday in Orem, Utah, according to KSL Sports.

That marks a single-game Powder League scoring record.

Wright was ranked as a four-star Class of 2024 prospect by 247Sports. He began his college career at Baylor before starting 35 games for BYU last season.

He averaged 18.1 points per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 41 percent from deep during his sophomore season with the Cougars.

Wright entered the transfer portal after his sophomore season and visited Kentucky before recommitting to BYU.

BYU coach Kevin Young said at the time he considered Wright to be "the best point guard in college basketball."

"He is poised to lead our team as the floor general and help be an extension of our staff," Young said about Wright in April, per BYUCougars.com's Tyson Jex.

The BYU star could now establish himself as one of the top point guards in the 2027 NBA draft by leading the Cougars' offense next season.

Wright is the only remaining player from the big three that led BYU last season now that A.J. Dybantsa and Richie Saunders have heard their names called in the 2026 NBA draft.

Keba Keita and Kennard Davis have already departed, leaving Wright as BYU's only returning starter next season.

Top-10 recruit Bruce Branch and Kentucky transfer Collin Chandler are projected to be among the newcomers beside Wright in the BYU starting lineup next season.

Young will be relying on Wright to provide both offensive production and leadership as he prepares to return for his second season in Provo.
