Predictions Are Good!

Shyam ParthasarathiJun 17, 2008

Controversies are a part of sport. Sportsmen make mistakes, managers make mistakes, the referees or umpires make mistakes!

So what's the big deal if the fans make mistakes?

Predicting some outcome in any sport is difficult.

How on Earth can you predict the up-coming tie in Euro 2008 between Italy and Spain?

You can have your opinion, for sure, but it is impossible to be conclusive in terms of a prediction—the more you think about the game, the more you would feel confused!

People who have guts make predictions—there is little doubt about that.

You need to stick your neck out and state solid facts before making your predictions.

The timing of predictions is also very important. I, for one, cannot predict a single thing because I sit and think about the event for ages and end up totally confused.

In the end I can say all I want, but what will be will be, right?

Predictions give a very good idea of what might happen—but, they aren't all true. So, I suggest that people stop criticizing predictions on this web site, or any other for that matter.

If you feel angry about a prediction, please leave a polite comment if you want to or simply don't comment at all.

I love to see predictions related to the Premier League. It is interesting to get an idea of what people think about the league on the whole and the competition is getting so tight that it takes an incredibly brave person to predict if Portsmouth would finish above Manchester City or vice-versa.

I think that writing should be encouraged and not insulted.

If there is anything positive to say, please do say it. If you have something bad to say—I'm sure all of us here on this Web site want to hear from you, but it must be in an appropriate manner.

So, if you want to counter certain predictions with your predictions—go ahead!

I think that is the only thing that will make many people understand what it is all about.

At the end of the day, I think that people should take things with a pinch of salt. I remember that most people thought that Arsenal would finish seventh or eighth at the beginning of last season and they proved everyone wrong.

That's what made me happy—not insulting those who made the predictions.

Let's respect this web site's rules and continue to predict because without predictions, there are no controversies and without controversies—sports will be far too dull!
