Orange Bowl 2021: Odds, Daily Fantasy Tips for Georgia vs. Michigan

Georgia has the No. 2 defense in the country this season, allowing only 254.4 total yards per game. Michigan's defense is ranked No. 12 after conceding 316.7 total yards allowed per game. So it wouldn't be a surprise if Friday's Orange Bowl matchup between the teams is a defensive battle.
However, that doesn't mean there won't be a standout offensive performance or two. Even though it could be difficult for both teams to move the ball consistently, there will likely be some scoring drives that feature top playmakers getting into the end zone.
That means there could be some Bulldogs and Wolverines you may want to put into your daily fantasy lineups for College Football Playoff competitions Friday.
Here's a look at the key info for the Orange Bowl, one of the two CFP semifinal matchups, along with several players you should consider playing in DFS.

Zamir White, RB, Georgia

Georgia has a balanced rushing attack, but junior Zamir White is the running back who has most often gotten into the end zone this season. He leads the team with 718 rushing yards and has scored 10 touchdowns, which included a seven-game streak earlier in the year.
White hasn't made much of an impact in either of the Bulldogs' past two games, though. He's had only 13 carries and hasn't scored a touchdown, so he's due to get back into the end zone. And what better time to do that than in the Orange Bowl?
With a nose for the end zone, White could be a risky DFS play, especially if Georgia ends up in a position that sees it mostly pass the ball. However, he comes at an affordable price ($4,800 on DraftKings; $7,000 on FanDuel), so it's worth taking a chance on him as a secondary back.
White will be looking for a bounce-back performance, and don't be surprised if he has one.
Cade McNamara, QB, Michigan

Although Michigan has a strong running back, Hassan Haskins, it doesn't have a favorable matchup for its rushing attack. Georgia is allowing only 81.7 rushing yards per game (third-fewest in the nation), and it will likely be keying in on trying to limit Haskins.
Perhaps that will lead to the Wolverines trying to have more success through the air. If that's the case, junior quarterback Cade McNamara ($5,500 on DraftKings; $5,900 on FanDuel) could be a sleeper DFS play. He has the lowest price of the four starting QBs in the CFP, so by playing McNamara, you could fill other slots with star players.
McNamara could end up having a solid showing too. He's had multiple touchdown passes in six of his 13 games this season. And if Michigan falls behind, McNamara could be leaned on to try to air it out in an effort to win.
It's risky to start any Wolverines player in DFS against this Bulldogs defense. But if you play McNamara, he could give you a decent quarterback performance and more flexibility with the rest of your lineup.
Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia

Brock Bowers will be one of the top offensive players on the field in the Orange Bowl. The true freshman tight end has improved as the season has gone along, and he had five games with two touchdowns this year, including in each of Georgia's final two regular-season contests.
In those games, Bowers went for more than 100 receiving yards. He had a big showing in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama, as he set season highs in catches (10) and receiving yards (139) while also scoring a touchdown for the third straight game.
It will cost a good bit of your budget to get Bowers in your DFS lineup ($7,000 on DraftKings; $8,000 on FanDuel), but he is a safe option with a high ceiling. Quarterback Stetson Bennett should be looking Bowers' way frequently in order to keep the Bulldogs offense moving down the field.
Expect Bowers to have an impressive performance in the Orange Bowl, and make sure to get him in your DFS lineup.
