BCS Standings Week 6

Icon#1 - Ohio State is Number One. Say what you want. They own the throne.

#2 - South Florida. Who expected the Bulls to be in the position they are in right now? They are playing some great football right now, led by rising QB Matt Grothe.

#3 - Boston College owns the #3 BCS ranking in the land. The eagles are on a mission to reach the BCS Champtionship game, led by senior running back Andre Callender and senior quarterback Matt Ryan.

#4 - LSU is still in the Top 5 after last week's OT loss to Kentucky, but the Tigers are not totally out. They still feel if they continue to win, they will have another shot at the title.

The Tigers need All America defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey to continue to dominate on defense, and QB Matt Flynn to trust his receivers and get them the ball more, if they want to remain contenders.

#5 - Oklahoma is in the Top 5 after they defeated Missouri in a battle last week, proving they are still in it to win it after that horrible loss to Colorado a couple of weeks ago. Coach Bob Stoops has a real stud in QB Sam Bradford, and a rising star in wide receiver Malcolm Kelly. The Sooners are running the Big 12 right now.

Rounding out the Top 10:

#6 - South Carolina. Head Coach Steve Spurrier is doing what he did at Florida some years ago: winning games without any superstar players. But he is getting it done because compared to where they were last year, the Gamecocks are playing Top 10 football this season.

#7 - Kentucky is in the BCS Top 10 after they defeated LSU—the top-ranked team in the nation—in 3 OTs. It was a great game to watch, and it shows why QB Andre' Woodson is the real deal and a Heisman candidate. He has his team following his lead.

Icon Sports Media#8 - Arizona State. This is a shocker to me, but if you look at their schedule you can see why: they have not really played a great team. Don't get me wrong, QB Rudy Carpenter is playing his butt off—just check the stats. He is running things in Tempe and that's a big reason why they are in the Top 10.

But DeSean Jackson and Cal may have something to say about that this weekend as they take on the Golden Bears.

#9 - West Virginia. This was a team everyone expected big things out of this year. With talents like RB Steve Slaton and QB Pat White, an undefeated season was possible. They had done great the past two seasons. But they are still recovering after a loss to South Florida put their title hopes on hold, and hoping to merely make it back to the Top 5.

#10 - Oregon. QB Dennis Dixon and RB Jonathan Stewart are simply out of control on the football field, which is why Oregon is in the BCS hunt.

Teams in the Top 10 are dropping like flies, so next week you never know what to expect.  Stay tuned.
