Former 4-Star RB Jamal Elliott Reportedly Transferring from Oregon
Running back Jamal Elliott, who was entering his freshman season at Oregon, is transferring from the program.
Per 247Sports' Erik Skopil, Elliott will "likely" go to a program closer to his home in North Carolina after taking part in Oregon's spring practice last month.
Elliott originally committed to the Ducks in April 2017 before his senior year at Hillside High School in Durham.
Elliott did commit to play for Oregon when Willie Taggart was head coach. After Taggart left for Florida State in December, offensive coordinator Mario Cristobal was promoted to take over.
Oregon also has a host of options at running back to choose from next season. Senior Tony Brooks-James and sophomore Darrian Felix figure to get the bulk of the carries. Elliott and Travis Dye were incoming freshmen also fighting to climb up the depth chart.
The 19-year-old Elliott is a 4-star prospect who ranks as the No. 12 running back and No. 279 overall prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, per 247Sports.
