Europa League Trophy Undamaged After Being Stolen out of Car at Event in Mexico

The Europa League Trophy was stolen in Mexico, but it has been returned and is undamaged, according to the Associated Press (via NBC Sports).

The Guanajuato state prosecutor's office originally said Friday the item was stolen from a vehicle that was transporting it at an event in Leon, but it was quickly returned, per the Associated Press (via USA Today).

The department posted a picture of the trophy safely in its case Friday:

Only four teams remain in the hunt to bring the trophy home the legal way, with the semifinals set to begin next Thursday. Arsenal will match up against Atletico Madrid, while Marseille faces Salzburg in the first of a two-legged matchup.
