EPL Predictions: Picks, Top Players for Week 34 Premier League Fixtures

Matt JonesApr 9, 2018

Tottenham Hotspur will want to keep Manchester City's title party on hold on Saturday, as they welcome the leaders to Wembley Stadium in the Premier League.

City were stunned on Saturday as Manchester United fought back from two goals down to win 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium. Three points would've been enough for them to clinch the title.

Elsewhere, the excitement will be in the battle to stay afloat in the top flight. Crystal Palace, in 17th, face rivals Brighton & Hove Albion at home knowing a win is crucial to pull clear of the relegation zone. Swansea City and Huddersfield Town also have home matches.

Arguably, there isn't a player in the Premier League more important to their side than Wilfried Zaha is to Palace. If they are to avoid the drop, he will surely have a huge part to play.

The Ivory Coast international showcased his value again on Saturday, as he netted a stunning goal in the Eagles' 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. When Brighton rock up at Selhurst Park on Saturday, there's absolutely no doubt he's the danger man.

As noted by the Men In Blazers Twitter account, the 25-year-old has been such a force for the Eagles:

Palace go into this match three points above the relegation zone having played a game more than Southampton, who are in 18th spot. A win here and the momentum that would be created from a derby victory would surely be enough to keep the Eagles up.

Zaha will want to make the difference for his side and has excelled under manager Roy Hodgson, who has given the forward more freedom in the final third. Given Brighton's poor record away from home, Palace's talisman can inspire the team to their biggest win of the campaign.

Christian Eriksen, Tottenham

Spurs have been in irresistible form since the turn of the year, and one of the key men behind their run has been Eriksen.

After a stunning goal against Chelsea in the 3-1 win on April 1, Eriksen was in inspired form again on Saturday, as his brace helped Spurs battle past Stoke City. The Denmark international is fast becoming one of the Premier League's standout attacking midfielders.

As noted by the BBC Match of the Day Twitter account, the 26-year-old is enjoying his best campaign in front of goal for Spurs:

Having shone against Chelsea, the onus will be on Eriksen again to see if he can perform against the division's top side. When these two teams met at the Etihad Stadium this season, his side were swamped in midfield in a 4-1 loss, although he did get on the scoresheet.

At home, Eriksen should get on the ball more often. And against a City team that have looked a little vulnerable at the back in recent outings against Manchester United and Liverpool, the Tottenham playmaker can have a big say in what should be another fantastic encounter.
