It was the second game-winning shot in three days after the guard made a two-pointer in the closing seconds to beat Connecticut in the Final Four.
"To do that twice in one weekend, the biggest stage in college basketball, it's crazy," she said Sunday night, per Graham Hays of ESPN.
There was time to kill on the final possession of the semifinals, with Notre Dame taking a timeout with 14 seconds left. Ogunbowale waited until she knew she would get the last shot and drilled the game-winner off the dribble.
It wasn't quite as easy against Mississippi State, with a late foul forcing the Irish to inbound the ball with just three seconds remaining. However, the eventual tournament Most Outstanding Player remained confident.
"It just felt right," Ogunbowale said of the final shot, per ESPN.com. "I practice late-game all the time. I just ran to Jackie [Young] and said, 'Throw it to me. Throw it to me.'"
She got the ball and sent it in for the win, giving Notre Dame its second title in program history and first since 2001.
Ogunbowale was one of the best players in the country all year long, and she will now be immortalized in college basketball history after two of the biggest shots of all time.
