Aldon Smith Has Bench Warrant Issued for Arrest After Missing Court Date
Former Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith has a warrant out for his arrest after he failed to appear in court for a domestic violence case, TMZ Sports reported Thursday.
According to TMZ Sports, Smith was due in court for allegedly violating a protective order tied to the case.
The San Francisco Chronicle's Michael Cabanatuan and Matt Kawahara reported March 4 that authorities sought Smith after he allegedly fled the scene of the incident.

Smith surrendered to police March 6 and pleaded not guilty to charges of domestic violence, assault, false imprisonment and vandalism March 12. As part of the plea, the judge issued the protective order, which forbid Smith from making any contact with the victim.
Smith's fiancee identified herself as the victim in an interview with TMZ Sports and said her parents escorted Smith to a treatment facility.
"I wish the best for Aldon," she said to TMZ. "And I'm scared for his life with his addiction. I cannot comment on the altercation, but I can tell you I love him and so happy he turned to my family who considers him family and hopefully he gets the help he truly needs."
The Raiders released Smith after the allegations surfaced. Despite being under contract with Oakland since 2015, the 28-year-old appeared in just nine games for the team. He received a one-year suspension from the NFL in November 2015 after being arrested in August 2015 on charges of hit and run, driving under the influence and vandalism.
