National Signing Day 2018: Final Recruit Announcement Schedule and Predictions
After a bevy of top high school football prospects committed during December's early signing period, Wednesday's national signing day won't have as much excitement as it usually does.
However, there will still be some twists and turns throughout the day as nine of the top 50 players in the nation make their decisions.
Also at stake is the coveted top position in the team rankings, which is held by Ohio State. Georgia and Texas will be in contention for the No. 1 position with the Buckeyes.
Wednesday's first major commitment will occur around 10 a.m. ET with many other marquee names announcing their respective college choices as the day goes on.

Predictions
Patrick Surtain Jr.
Barring a change of heart on Wednesday morning, Patrick Surtain Jr. will be headed to LSU.
The Tigers have been at the front of the defensive back's recruitment for most of the process, although Alabama is attempting to make a late surge for the top unsigned prospect.
Surtain's connections to Louisiana run deep as his father grew up in the state, and it also doesn't hurt that LSU has turned out a number of NFL defensive backs in the last decade.
If he signs with LSU as expected, Surtain will join Kelvin Joseph, who committed to the Tigers in January, as late additions that could land the Tigers in the top 10 of the team rankings.
Prediction: LSU
Nicholas Petit-Frere
The biggest recruiting mystery in the class of 2018 will be solved on Wednesday, when the top unsigned offensive prospect chooses between Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere has kept his decision close to his chest for most of the process, and every school left in the race for his signature has a chance to land him on national signing day.
Petit-Frere could be leaning toward Ohio State, but Florida possesses a home-state advantage, and Alabama would be hard to pass up given its recent success on the gridiron.
Michigan is in need of a top recruit in an otherwise disappointing class, while Notre Dame's recent history of producing NFL offensive linemen speaks for itself.
Prediction: Florida
Olaijah Griffin
The son of rapper Warren G is one of four marquee defensive backs to make a decision on national signing day.
Olaijah Griffin, who is ranked 28th overall in the class of 2018, could stay in state and play for USC, or he could turn in the west coast for the SEC and join Tennessee.
Griffin could be the only one of the four top defensive backs left on the board to commit to a school outside of the SEC.
Surtain will decide between LSU and Alabama, Tyson Campbell appears headed for Georgia and Tennessee has created a ton of momentum with Isaac Taylor-Stuart.
Prediction: USC
