Forward Jamil Wilson Reportedly Sued for Sexual Battery and Fraud

NBA forward Jamil Wilson is reportedly the subject of a lawsuit in which he has been accused of sexual battery and fraud.

According to TMZ Sports, the plaintiff is a woman who said she dated Wilson from November 2016 through June 2017. The woman alleged she contracted herpes from Wilson through unprotected sex and that Wilson didn't tell her he had the disease despite knowing so.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that the Los Angeles Lakers were "strong front-runners" to sign Wilson to a 10-day contract once he clears waivers, following his release from the Los Angeles Clippers.

However, Wojnarowski later reported the Lakers have decided not to add Wilson.

The 27-year-old Wilson appeared in 15 games for the Clippers this season, making 10 starts.

In 18.3 minutes per game, the 6'7" wing averaged 7.0 points, 2.1 rebounds and a strong 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Wilson went undrafted in 2014 following a standout collegiate career at Marquette. He went on to have stints in the NBA G League as well as the Puerto Rican and Italian professional leagues.

He split time between the Clippers and the G League this season after signing a two-way contract, but the Clippers cut ties with him last week.

The plaintiff is reportedly seeking damages for emotional distress as part of her lawsuit.
