A wide-open match exploded into life on eight minutes when Pione Sisto gave Celta the lead. Far from deterred, Girona needed just two minutes to answer back, with the equaliser coming from Portu.
It was 2-1 to the visitors four minutes later when Cristhian Stuani stooped to head in. Just like Girona earlier, the hosts only needed two minutes to restore parity.
Celta's equaliser came courtesy of Maxi Gomez, who slotted home after an astute pass from Jozabed Sanchez.
Four goals in this short amount of time is a rarity in the Spanish top flight, with OptaJose putting the scoring glut into context.

Things inevitably calmed down as the half progressed. Wass went close for Celta, while Bernardo Espinosa should have done better with a header for the away side.
Despite their fast start, it took Celta until 14 minutes from time to net a third. It came when Wass clipped a free kick into the top corner.
The shot took an unusual angle, one strange enough to initially convince Sid Lowe of The Guardian the ball has been deflected.
Girona tried to exert some pressure late on and got their rewards when Juanpe collected Espinosa's pass and arrowed a shot into the bottom corner.

The stalemate won't be welcomed by Celta manager Juan Carlos Unzue, who has struggled since replacing Eduardo Berizzo in the dugout this summer. Meanwhile, Girona may be up to 15th but have plateaued somewhat, having now gone four matches without a win after starting the season drawing with Atletico Madrid and beating Malaga at home.
