Fox Commentator Dean Blandino Misses Gus Johnson's Hand on Low-Five Attempt

Andrew GouldJun 3, 2018

On Saturday night, Fox televised a high-octane matchup between No. 14 Stanford and Sam Darnold's No. 6 USC Trojans. The contest has lived up to the hype so far, with 45 points scored in an intense first half.

It also featured an awkward moment in the booth. While asking Dean Blandino to give his thoughts on the game, Gus Johnson made a hand motion toward his new broadcasting colleague. Blandino appeared to misinterpret the gesture as a low-five solicitation.

Blandino tried slapping back, but Johnson's hand was no longer in range.

For all the controversial catch calls under his watch, there's no doubt the former NFL senior vice president of officiating never gained possession of the low-five.
