Alvaro Morata 'On the Verge' of AC Milan Transfer Amid Chelsea, Man United Talk
AC Milan are reportedly "on the verge" of signing Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata, having made a €70 million (£61.3 million) offer for the Spaniard.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via ESPN.co.uk), despite the 24-year-old striker having been heavily linked with Manchester United and Chelsea this summer, it looks like Milan will snap him up from the European champions.
The Italian giants have been on a major spending spree this summer as they look to return to the football elite, having finished no higher than sixth in Serie A in each of the past four seasons.
Real are still holding out for more money, though, with their asking price set at €90 million (£78.8 million), according to Sky Sports News HQ's Kaveh Solhekol:
If Morata were to sign for the Rossoneri, he would join the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Lucas Biglia, Franck Kessie and Hakan Calhanoglu among the new recruits at the San Siro.
And he would likely be effective for manager Vincenzo Montella given his clinical finishing and effective link-up play.
Despite only starting 14 games in La Liga last season, Morata netted 15 goals and provided four assists for Los Blancos, per WhoScored.com.
He also already has valuable Serie A experience after winning two titles with Juventus between 2014 and 2016, so he could hit the ground running at Milan.
