WWE Extreme Rules 2017: What's Next for Roman Reigns and Fatal 5-Way Losers?

Sunday's 2017 Extreme Rules pay-per-view was main-evented by one of the wildest Fatal 5-Way matches in WWE history.

While Samoa Joe cemented his spot against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the Great Balls of Fire PPV in July, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt now have to move forward following the loss.

As the Raw brand moves toward its next PPV, here is what's coming now for Sunday's losers.

Roman Reigns/Seth Rollins

For the Reigns fans out there who were worried that not earning a victory Sunday was some sort of sign that WWE management was not firmly in his corner, a huge win over Wyatt in the opening segment of Raw Monday night proved his character will be just fine.

In the short term, Reigns can work a storyline against any of the top stars on the Raw brand, but the best possible option would be a battle against Rollins. The two allies have a storied history, but a singles feud would be fresh and interesting until Braun Strowman eventually returns.

Rollins has been one of the miscast wrestlers in WWE since returning from his knee injury, but he would be one of the most over faces in the company if he were to go up against Reigns. The two men have great chemistry, and the matches they've had thus far have been entertaining.

For the long term, Reigns will eventually rekindle his storyline against Strowman before likely being the man to finally defeat Lesnar for the universal title. On the other hand, Rollins and Samoa Joe continue to further their program, and having the two men battle at SummerSlam would be a major boost to the August PPV.

Finn Balor/Bray Wyatt

As the wrestler who passed out to Samoa Joe to take the loss, Balor will need a big moment coming out of Extreme Rules to maintain his momentum. The perfect answer is a long-term program against Wyatt.

After Wyatt took a hard-fought loss to Reigns Monday, the biggest possible matchup for both men would be against each other. With Balor's Demon gimmick going up against Wyatt's cult-leader persona, the supernatural aura in this angle would make for incredible videos, promos and moments.

Both Balor and Wyatt need a marquee victory coming out of Extreme Rules, but it's clear the Demon will earn the victory in the feud. As great as Wyatt has been on the mic and in the ring, WWE Creative has shown no consistency when booking him. Balor, on the other hand, has been handled properly for the most part and doesn't lose when he's portraying the Demon.

Regardless of who is ultimately victorious in the storyline, Wyatt vs. Balor is a money feud for WWE that would result in a marquee match that could elevate the Great Balls of Fire event as one of the most entertaining shows of the year.
