Denmark vs. Germany: Time, Live Stream and TV Schedule for 2017 Friendly

Tom SunderlandJun 5, 2017

Denmark will face Germany on Tuesday in what will be the last friendly fixture for both teams before they return to their respective qualification campaigns for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The June fixture was organised in an effort to commemorate Denmark's remarkable run to the 1992 European Championship, where they shocked the world by beating Germany 2-0 to take that year's title.

Per ESPN FC's Stephan Uersfeld, Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff took a humble approach to the meeting and said: "It will be a fantastic occasion to play against Denmark, 25 years after we lost the European Championship final in 1992."

Both teams are likely to rest some of their key stars for the clash as each have a qualifier to think about just days later, but they will also likely respect the occasion and field some top talent.

Read on for a preview of Tuesday's friendly encounter, as well as all the essential viewing information and a look at which players to keep an eye on in Brondby, Denmark.

Date: Tuesday, June 6

Christian Eriksen, Denmark

If Denmark manager Age Hareide decides to take a more restrained approach to Tuesday's friendly, captain Christian Eriksen may be one of those withheld from the clash.

The Danes face Kazakhstan just four days later, but if they are chasing a result on Tuesday, Eriksen is a prime candidate to lead them to it after cementing his place as a superstar at Tottenham Hotspur, per Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports:

The 25-year-old's cultured play across Spurs' devastating attacking midfield saw him storm to Premier League prominence this term—as if he wasn't there already—and blogger Chris Miller outlined Eriksen's spot as a fearsome force:

While not always the finisher himself, Eriksen has shown a knack for unlocking defences.

Feyenoord's Nicolai Jorgensen is the prime candidate to lead Denmark's line for the test against Germany, and he has the capacity to offer Die Mannschaft some problems at the back if he's found in enemy territory.

Timo Werner, Germany

Timo Werner took the Bundesliga by storm in 2016-17, and the electric Red Bull Leipzig forward is now looking to wreak havoc on the international scene after earning his place in manager Joachim Low's plans.

While still only 21 years of age, Werner was one of the major driving forces behind Leipzig's second-placed finish in the Bundesliga this season and established himself as one of the nation's most prolific players:

Pace is one trait that separates the youngster from the rest, and Squawka illustrated just how his club's counter-friendly system played into his hands:

Werner is one of three strikers in the Germany squad alongside Hoffenheim's Sandro Wagner and Lars Stindl of Borussia Monchengladbach, although he's the only one with a cap to his name thus far.

It's not guaranteed the Leipzig wonder will start in Brondby, but Werner offers that perfect blend of potential and in-form talent that Low will undoubtedly want to test out again as he continues his development at the top level.
