Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant Combine for 74 Points in Game 1 Win vs. Spurs
When the Golden State Warriors faced their toughest test this postseason, their two MVPs rose to the occasion.
Before fans could prepare for an NBA Finals rematch, the San Antonio Spurs earned a 20-point lead in the Western Conference Finals' opening game at Oracle Arena. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green combined to score 15 points, and the bench offered 13.
And that's why the Warriors added Kevin Durant to a squad already boasting two-time MVP Stephen Curry. The duo combined to score 74 points, all of which the No. 1 seed needed to secure a 113-111 victory. The duo collectively made 25 of 47 field-goal attempts for their highest total since joining forces.
With or without a healthy Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs have the unenviable task of containing two of the league's most potent scorers.
